Martin Skrtel was a fan favourite at Liverpool. The Slovakian international’s no nonsense defending and passion for the team earned him a reputation as a hard man and he put on a stellar display for his new club Fenerbahce helping them to a 2-1 victory over Manchester United.
The Liverpool – Man Utd rivalry is one of the fiercest in the Premier League and Skrtel did not miss the opportunity to rub salt in the wounds of the Red Devils and send a shout out to his former team.
Skrtel shared a picture from the game on his Instagram account thanking the Fenerbahce fans.
The 30-year-old centre-back also wrote in his caption that beating United always ‘feels better’ and added the hashtag YNWA – You’ll Never Walk Alone – in reference to Reds fans: “Ps:victory against MU always feels better YNWA.”
