Benteke joined his Liverpool teammates for the first at the Melwood training grounds on Thursday 23 July following his £32.5 million transfer from Aston Villa.

Liverpool have had a busy summer signing James Milner, Adam Bogdan, Roberto Firmino, Joe Gomez and Nathaniel Clyne over the transfer window.

Can has returned to Liverpool for pre-season training after a busy summer playing in the U21 European Championships for Germany. The 21-year-old was part of the side that crashed out of the tournament after a 5-0 defeat against Portugal.

The Reds star played most of last season as a defender in Brendan Rodgers back-three but is expected to feature as a central-midfielder this season.
