Pjanic 'convinced' Salih Ucan will be a first-team player for Roma

Roma midfielder Miralem Pjanic stated that Salih Uçan will be a first time player for the Serie A outfit.

“Uçan? He has all the qualities to succeed, I am convinced that he will win a starting spot very soon,” Pjanic was quoted as saying by Roma Press.

Uçan has struggled for first team football after spending most of the season out injured.

The Turkish international has already sustained four injury blows already this season.

Pjanic underlined that Uçan had some problems settling in such as adapting to the country, the language but revealed that he gets on well with his teammates.

“His initial problems? It’s a new country, a new language, and also his young age have been obstacles for him, but he can count on our support – from everyone in the team, we are very willing to help,” he added.

Uçan is currently on a two-year loan at AS Roma from Fenerbahçe and the Serie A outfit have a clause to make the deal permanent at the end of the current agreement.

The Turkish international has now made three appearances for Roma in all competitions this season.

Roma are currently third in the Serie A table, one point behind rivals Lazio and 15 behind leaders Juventus.
