‘I want to play in Europe’ – Arsenal target confirms he would consider transfer

Besiktas star Oguzhan Ozyakup has been linked with a summer exit after another impressive season in the Super Lig.

Turkish-Football have previously reported that Arsenal are interested in their former player.

Furthermore, Ozyakup has hinted that he would consider returning to the Gunners.

“I have plans to play in Europe,” Ozyakup said in an interview with beIN Sport Turkey/

“I was born in Holland and developed in England at the best academy in the world.

“I trained with the best and want to relive my time at Arsenal again.

“I want to be an ambassador for Turkish football in Europe like Arda Turan.”

The Turkish intentional has just 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to sign an extension despite reports of a deal being close.

“I want to play in Europe,” Ozyakup said speaking at an unveiling of the new Besiktas kits.

“I have never made any secret of this.

“However, it would have to be a very good offer to temp our president.

“But I would also be happy to stay at Besiktas and win the league for a third season.”

The latest developments come amid reports that Roma have made an €11 million bid for the 24-year-old according to Sozcu.

Per the source, Roma sporting director Monchi has wanted Ozyakup since his time in charge of Sevilla.

The Black Eagles are not prepared to accept offers that fall below their €13 million valuation.

Ozyakup played a key role in Besiktas winning the league title for the past two seasons.
