Galatasaray striker Lukas Podolski has sent his followers an Eid message alongside Germany national teammates Emre Can and Mesut Ozil.
Podolski sent the Tweet out alongside the two Turkish speaking members of the Germany national team wishing his followers a happy Eid.
The message wishes everyone a happy Eid celebration in Turkish. Podolski joined Galatasaray from Arsenal last season and is one of two Super Lig players in the current Germany national team – the other being Besiktas star Mario Gomez.
Liverpool star Can and Arsenal’s Ozil meanwhile are the two ethnic Turks in the Germany national team setup. Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan would have been the third had he not been injured.
Germany has the largest Turkish diaspora population in Western Europe with a population estimated to be between 3-4 million.
