Portuguese star issues response to Arsenal interest

Bruma

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo sparked the latest round of transfer rumours surrounding Galatasaray star Bruma when they asked him to confirm interest from Arsenal.

Bruma was asked what he thought about teams like Arsenal being interested in him.

The Portuguese star did not deny the Arsenal link and revealed that he was honoured that the North London based side have expressed an interest.

Bruma also underlined that his primary focus is completing the rest of the season with Galatasaray.

Mundo Deportivo asked: “There are rumours that Arsenal want you. Is there any truth to this?”

Bruma responded saying:There are always rumours but they do not distract me from the main goal. I never think of two clubs at the same time. It is good to see this news and interest from other clubs. But I’m in Galatasaray and that’s what I’m focused on.”

Arsenal are not the only Premier League side linked with the 22-year-old winger.

A source close to the player recently revealed to Turkish-Football.com that Tottenham have been keeping close tabs on the winger and are expected to make an end of season move.

Bruma has settled in well to life in Turkey and is currently enjoying the best season of his career in terms of goals scored and assists provided.

The Portuguese star has scored seven times and provided five assists for Galatasaray in the Turkish league.

Bruma has also averaged the second highest number of successful dribbles in Europe – top five leagues; Premier League, Bundesliga, La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1 – this season.

The Galatasaray winger averages 5 dribbles per-game which is higher than the likes of Neymar and Eden Hazard.

The Istanbul giants are keen on extending Bruma’s current deal and want to include a release clause option that reflects their €20 million valuation a source close to the player told Turkish-Football-com.

Talks have begun with his agent but a deal has yet to be agreed.
