Reading midfielder Jem Karacan completes move to Galatasaray

Jem Paul Karacan has completed his move to Galatasaray from Reading FC.

The Lions confirmed the news today via a statement released to the Istanbul stock exchange.

Karacan has signed a three-year deal with the Istanbul based side keeping him at Galatasaray until July 2018.

The Turkey U23 international has joined Galatasaray on a free transfer after his contract with Reading expired at the end of June.

Reading boss Steve Clark wanted the 26-year-old to remain and offered him a new deal however, the box-to-box midfielder opted to join the Turkish Super Lig champions.

Karacan has missed much of the last two seasons due to injury. The Turkish international made just 11 appearances this season due to a lengthy knee injury.

Galatasaray won the league title for the 20th time last season and secured a place in the Champions League group stages.
