Speaking at a press-conference today the 28-year-old Turkish international said, “Cristiano is special but he’ll never be like Messi. I don’t think that there’s ever been anyone like Messi – or ever will be.”

Turan went on to express his excitement at playing alongside Andres Iniesta, Neymar and Suarez.

Turan completed his £24 million move to FC Barcelona from Atletico Madrid today.
The Turkish international will be unable to play an official game for Barcelona until January 2016 due to a transfer ban imposed by Fifa for breaching rules over the signings of underage players.
The 28-year-old winger provided six assists and three goals in 46 appearances in all competitions for Atletico Madrid last season.
