“Realised how good a player he was” – Martin Keown makes huge admission regarding Mesut Ozil

Former Arsenal defender Martin Keown has hade a huge admission regarding Mesut Ozil.

Despite winning the World Cup with Germany, leading Real Madrid to a La Liga title and starring during Arsenal’s FA Cup wins, Keown has only just realised that Ozil is a “good” player.

The Ex-England international came to the realization during Arsenal’s 3-3 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League.

However, Mesut Ozil could be on his way out of Arsenal in the near future.

The Germany international has failed to pen a new deal and could even end up leaving the club for free in the summer.

“The other night [against Chelsea], [Mesut] Ozil – it was the first time I realised how good a player he was,” Keown told TalkSport.

“He committed everything, he was quick, he was incisive in his play, and he was a different Ozil.”

Both Ozil and Sanchez are expected to be back in action tomorrow evening when Arsenal take on their London rivals Chelsea in the League Cup.

The Gunners will also have one eye on this weekend’s Premier League encounter against Bournemouth.
