Revealed: £27m Man United star could join Turkish league giants over next 48 hours

Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has been closely linked with a move to Galatasaray.

A source close to Galatasaray revealed to Turkish-Football that talks have reached an advanced level.

The Lions have agreed personal terms with Fellaini but have yet to strike a deal with United.

The Red Devils are not opposed to the transfer for the right fee.

Fellaini has under 12 months remaining on his contract and has yet to be offered an extension.

Negotiations are ongoing and a final decision is expected within the next 48 hours.

Fellaini’s wage demands could put the clubs finances under strain. Galatasaray were suspended from European competition last season due to their finances.

The Lions are also in talks with Manchester City midfielder Fernando and have prioritised finding a replacement for Nigel de Jong who left earlier in the summer.

Galatasaray sporting director Cenk Ergun has confirmed that talks are ongoing with Fellaini.

“There will be surprises, we are in talks with Fellaini,” Ergun was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football after the Lions training session in Austria today.

“We have made an approach, we are close and if we get Fellaini we will end our pursuit of N’Diaye.

“We need a player like Fellaini who can shuttle around in midfield.”

The Belgium international was signed on from Everton on a £27.5 million back in 2013 (BBC) and is one of the last remnants of the David Moyes era.

The 29-year-old has 15 goals and nine assists in 133 appearances for United in all competitions.
