Revealed: €25m Chelsea target Fernando Muslera future depends on budget meeting outcome

Uruguay international Fernando Muslera’s future at Galatasaray depends largely on the upcomming budget conferance.

The clubs financial situation will be discussed at the conference as well as projections for the near future.

Galatasaray are currently being monitored by UEFA for Financial Fair play. According to Fanatik, if the outlook is bleak, the Lion’s may be forced into selling the likes of Fernando Muslera.

Chelsea have a long standing interest in Muslera and tried to sign him over the January transfer window. Galatasaray did however resist and set a €25 million price tag on the Uruguay international.

The Telegraph also recently reported that Antonio Conte’s side were closely linked with a move for Muslera.

Muslera does however have under 18-months remaining on this contract meaning Galatasaray may opt to sell him for less rather than risk losing him on a free the year after.

The 30-year-old has expressed a desire to remain at Galatasaray during an interview with Ajanspor.

“If an offer to extend my contract is offered to me, I will accept it,” Muslera told Ajanspor.

“I feel at home here and nobody wants to leave their home.”
