The 23-year-old has been closely linked with a summer transfer.

The Sun reported that Atletico Madrid have been plotting a £17 million transfer but that Bayer will only accept offers that activate his £32.25 million release clause.

Per the source, Manchester United and Chelsea are also interested in his services.

The 22-year-old has made no secret of his desire to play for the Red Devils.

Calhanoglu told Turkish football broadcaster Lig TV the following: “Barcelona and Manchester United are huge clubs, it would be difficult to turn them down.”

The playmaker’s agent Bektas Demirtas did recently reveal that his client could leave at the end of the season.

“It is said that Hakan is on the radar of Chelsea, what I will comment on is that Atletico Madrid tried to transfer Calhanoglu but the Bayer Leverkusen has said no. Now the situation has changed and Calhanoglu can soon say goodbye,” Demirtas was quoted as saying by the Italian version of Eurosport.
