Revealed: Man United wonder kid target available for €12m

Basaksehir star Cengiz Under has attracted widespread interest from across Europe this summer.

Manchester United were the first major clubs to express an interest in Under.

It was however, United rivals Manchester City who made the first serious offer for Under.

A source close to the player told Turkish-Football that City made an €8 million bid on Thursday.

The Istanbul minnows are demanding €12 million for Under and are reluctant to accept a figure below their asking price.

Basaksehir’s priority is to keep Under on for another season but they did propose a deal involving City signing the rising star and loaning him back for another season.

Talks are expected to continue this week but City could face competition from Juventus.

Under has several offers on the table according to club president Goksel Gumusdag.

“Cengiz has offers, he has serious offers but we really want to keep him on for at least one more season,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“We will compete in the Champions League this season and want him involved.

“We do not want to let him go unless our valuation is met or exceeded.”

Under scored nine times and provided seven assists last season, playing a key role in Basaksehir upsetting the odds and finishing as Super Lig runners-up as well as Turkish Cup finalists.
