Revealed: Why Mesut Ozil joined Arsenal from Real Madrid

Germany international playmaker Mesut Ozil has revealed why he joined Arsenal from Real Madrid.

Ozil made the move to Arsenal for a club record £42.5m in the summer of 2013.

The star midfielder penned a four-year contract which expires in July 2018. Ozil’s long term future at the north London based club remains in doubt.

However, during an interview with Copa90 Ozil revealed why he decided to join Arsenal from real Madrid.

“I know they played very good football, attractive football,” Ozil told Copa90.

“I knew this club played very good football, and not just for one year, for many years.”

Ozil is expected to feature for Arsenal today when they take on an out-of-form West Brom. Tony Pulis’ side have lost back-to-back games in the league going into today’s game.

Arsenal meanwhile lost their last Premier League clash by a 3-1 scoreline to Liverpool and will be looking to return to winning ways.

Arsene Wenger’s side defeated Lincoln 5-0 in the FA Cup last weekend.

Ozil has nine assists and nine goals to his name so far this season. The star playmaker Real Madrid star’s contract with the Gunners expires in under 18 months.
