Rizespor part ways with former Newcastle striker Lualua [divider]

Lomana Lualua has agreed to mutually terminate his contract with Rizespor the club revealed.

Rizespor released a statement confirming that Lualua has left the club.

The statement read: “Rizespor and Lomana Tresor Lualua have agreed to mutually terminate his contract, we want to thank Lualua for his services to the club and wish him all the best in the future.”

Lualua was left out of the squad for much of the season following a dispute with former Rizespor manager Mehmet Özdilek.

Özdilek resigned as Rizespor manager following four back-to-back defeats in the Turkish Super League.

The experienced manager was replaced by Hikmet Karaman who brought Lualua back into the first team and played the 34-year-old for the last four games before the winter break.

Lualua spent four seasons at Newcastle United before he joined transferred to Portsmouth in 2004.

The 34-year-old moved to Turkey in 2012, joining Karabükspor from Blackpool.

Lualua joined Rizespor this summer and made a total of 11 appearances for the Black Sea based side.
