Rizespor snap six match loss streak against Akhisar [divider]
Rizespor ended a six match losing streak with a convincing 4-0 win over Akhisar.
“We return to Rize with high spirits,” Rizespor manager Hikmet Karaman said after the game.
“We played excellent in the first half and went into the half time break with a 3-0 lead.
“Akhisar had not lost a single home game all season, we were playing one of the leagues most in form home sides.
“What we achieved today is worthy of praise, especially considering the circumstances.
“I want to praise all my players but we have to be realistic, it was just one win, we cannot get too carried away.
“We are still at the start of the marathon and everyones feet must be firmly on the ground, we have to build upon this, it cannot be a one off.”
Akhisar lost their first home game of the season against Rizespor.
The Black Sea based side moved into 16th place following the win and take on Konyaspor next week.
