The 31-year-old defensive midfielder joined Braga from Guimarães in 2010 and has made a total of 123 appearances for the Portuguese outfit.
Carlos who has experience both playing and coaching in Turkey, signed a one and a half year deal with Akhisar last week.
The former Real Madrid star recently resigned as manager of Sivasspor after a poor start to the season.
