Robin van Persie thanks Arsenal and wishes former club all the best

Robin Van Persie completed his transfer from Manchester United to Fenerbahçe yesterday in-front of 15,000 fans at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium.

The Dutch star underlined that he had no hard feelings towards former United manager Louis van Gaal or his former club Arsenal.

Van Persie’s move to United in 2012 did not go down well with Arsenal fans but the 31-year-old striker went out of his way to thank the Gunners and wish the club all the best in the future via social media.

Van Persie spent eight seasons at Arsenal and did become a fan favourite at the club until his £24 million move to United.

The 31-year-old did however, complete his dream of winning the Premier League with the Red Devils in his first season at the club.

Van Persie spent a total of 12 seasons in the Premier League and sold the most named shirts during the 2012-13 and 2013-14 seasons. The Dutch star was also in the top 10 in terms of named shirt sales last season.
