Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers admitted that he has a number of injury concerns but revealed that he believes his side still have enough quality to secure a place in the next round of the Europa League.

“We have got a few injuries; we are probably out here without about eight of our squad, that have picked up knocks – some previous and some from the weekend,” Rodgers told the official Liverpool website.

“But we still have a strong enough squad to hopefully complete the job. We have got a few knocks and niggles from the weekend.”

Captain Steven Gerrard as well as midfielders Jordan Henderson and Lucas have been ruled out with injury and Lazar Markovic will serve the second match of a four game ban.

Coutinho had played 19 consecutive games for Liverpool but will be rested for the Beşiktaş game.

Rodgers will also be without defenders Mamadou Sakho and Glen Johnson.

The Liverpool manager could be forced to play a back-three made up consisting of Kolo Toure, Martin Skrtel and Lovren. The midfield is expected to include Emre Can and Joe Allen.

Liverpool head into the second leg against Beşiktaş with a 1-0 lead on aggregate.
