A brace from Ryan Kent and a late Sheyi Ojo penalty earned the Reds their second win over the Toffees in 2015.

Yeşil failed to score but the 20-year-old striker did start against Everton.

Liverpool midfielder-come-defender Emre Can turned out in support of the young Reds and his friend Yeşil.

Yeşil and Can both joined Liverpool from Bayer Leverkusen, were both born in Germany and are both from Turkish families.

Both players are part of the Turkish community in Germany estimated to be in the region of 3-4 million.

Can and Yeşil can represent either Turkey or Germany at senior international level.

Yeşil’s shirt number 61 refers to the area code of Trabzon, north-eastern Turkey where the 20-year-old’s family originate from.

The young striker was a Trabzonspor fan growing up and was linked with a loan move to the Black Sea Storm in the summer.
