Samed Yeşil played in Liverpool U21s 3-2 loss against Fulham at Motspur Park on Sunday.

Yeşil has returned to the Liverpool reserves since recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury which ruled him out for much of last season.

Yeşil started and played 60 minutes before coming off for Sinclair.

Following the defeat, Michael Beale told Liverpoolfc.com: “We played very well against a very good athletic side and I don’t know how we didn’t take anything out of the game.

“We created some great chances and the Fulham goalkeeper made some outstanding saves. We could have had three penalties and it wasn’t to be.

“Yes, we’ve got to tighten up and stop conceding goals but overall I have to be pleased with how well the lads played.”

Yeşil has one goals and an assist for the Liverpool youth side this season.

The 20-year-old forward has also been training with the senior side recently and is hoping to break into the first team.

Yeşil was born in Germany but his family originate from the Black Sea region of Turkey.

The Reds signed Yeşil from Bayer Leverkusen for €1 million last season and still has two-years left on his contract.

Liverpool face Tottenham Hotspur next at Langtree Park, St Helens, at 7pm GMT on 7 November 2014.
