Liverpool star checked Mohamed Salah’s stats after club-record £35m transfer

Liverpool completed the transfer of Mohamed Salah for a club-record £35 fee (BBC) from Roma last week.

The Egyptian signed a five-year deal with the Premier League giants.

Reds star Emre Can revealed that he is looking forward to playing alongside Salah and that he has already been checking his stats.

“I am really looking forward to it because he’s a really good player,” Can said.

“Yesterday or the day before I saw the stats for him from last year in Italy.

“I think he will be a very good player for Liverpool.”

Salah is no stranger to Premier League football having previously played for Chelsea.

The 25-year-old was won of Roma’s star performers last season and his stats make impressive reading.

The Egyptian winger scored 15 goals and provided 11 assists in 31 appearances.

The Liverpool midfielder of Turkish origin is on international duty at the Confederations Cup.

The 23-year-old has started the last two games for Germany, starring in the 1-1 draw against Chile and the 3-1 victory over Cameroon.

Can will have to wait until July to get to know his new teammate.

Germany will take on Mexico in the Confederations Cup semi-final on Thursday 29 June as they continue efforts to win the tournament for the first time.
