The former Turkish national team manager has entered negotiations with Beşiktaş and met with the club president Fikret Orman today.

Güneş is expected to replace Slaven Bilic who resigned from his position as Beşiktaş head coach a fortnight ago.

Bilic has been appointed manager of West Ham replacing Sam Allardyce.

The 46-year-old manager resigned at the end of the season after failing to win the Süper Lig despite being involved in the title race until the last three games of the season.

Beşiktaş played the entire season without a stadium as the Vodafone Arena is still being constructed. The new 41,903 seater stadium is likely to be competed over the following the next league campaign.

Güneş led Turkey to 3rd in the 2002 World Cup in Japan and South Korea. The experienced manager is one of the most highly rated managers in Turkish football.
