Senol Gunes wants Besiktas to play home games in Istanbul

Beşiktaş manager Şenol Güneş stated that he wants his side to play home games in Istanbul next season.

The Black Eagles were footballing nomads last season playing home games in Istanbul, Konya and Ankara due to the Vodafone Arena construction.

The new Beşiktaş stadium will be a 41,903 seat venue when it is completed on the grounds of the old Inönü stadium.

The Vodafone Arena was scheduled to be completed in time for the start of the season but is now expected to be finished at a later date.

Until the new stadium is completed the Black Eagles will continue to play at a temporary home.

“I spoke with the board and we agreed that it will be best to stay in Istanbul this season,” Güneş told Turkish-football.com reporters at his signing ceremony.
