Sergey Karasev to referee Besiktas v Club Brugge game

The Russian referee Sergey Karasev will officiate the Europa League tie between Besiktas and Liverpool on Thursday 19 March.

The new was confirmed on UEFA’s website this morning.

Anton Averyano and Tikhon Kalugin  have been appointed as linesmen while Nikolai Golubev will be the forth official.

Sergey Lapochkin and Sergey Ivanov will be the fifth and sixth officials at the game.

Karasev has been a officiating for five years after he became a FIFA referee back in 2010. The 35-year-old has refereed at 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The Black Eagles lost the first-leg in Belgium 2-1 and will take on Club Brugge at the Atatürk Olympic stadium next Thursday.

Beşiktaş will take solace from the fact they also lost the first leg against Liverpool in the Round of 32 but managed to win the tie in Istanbul.

The Black Eagles are unbeaten in European competition this season in Istanbul, including games against Arsenal, Tottenham and Liverpool.
