‘He has serious offers’ – Man City face competition for Cengiz Under, Man United & Italian giants could attempt to hijack move

Basaksehir have receive a number of offers for star forward Cengiz Under according to club president Goksel Gumusdag.

Gumusdag revealed that he wants Under to stay at the club for another season but accepted that a transfer could be on the cards.

“Cengiz has offers, he has serious offers but we really want to keep him on for at least one more season,” he was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“We will compete in the Champions League this season and want him involved.

“We do not want to let him go unless our valuation is met or exceeded.”

Manchester City sent club officials to Istanbul on Thursday to hold talks with Basaksehir over Under.

Negotiations went on for four hours, City made an €8m offer falling just short of the €10m demanded by the Istanbul based outfit.

City are favourites to sign the 19-year-old and the only club currently involved in advanced level talks.

It turns out that the Citizens are not the only side that have made an offer.

Details of the other bids have yet to be disclosed but Turkish-Football have reported Manchester United, Tottenham and Juventus interest in Under.

The Turkish international played a vital role for Basaksehir last season.

The Istanbul minnows were surprise runners-up and reached the Turkish Cup final.
