Sevilla star set to make first Champions League appearance against Liverpool after leaving Super Lig giants

Sevilla take on Liverpool in their Champions League Group E opener at Anfield tonight.

The Spanish giants will be without David Soria, Nolito and Johannes Geis who are all injured.

Summer signing Simon Kjaer is expected to start in defence.

The Denmark international will play his first Champions League clash since leaving Fenerbahce this summer if he does get the nod.

The Yellow Canaries have struggled without Kjaer, shipping in 14 goals in four games this season.

Sevilla meanwhile have an impressive defensive record having conceded just once in three matches.

Kjaer has played a full 90 minutes twice this season and is likely to feature against the Reds tonight.

Sevilla are unbeaten in five games in all competitions but have never won in five trips to England.

Liverpool meanwhile are coming off the back of a 5-0 defeat against Manchester City on Saturday.

Sevilla did knock Liverpool out of the Europa League the last time they met two years ago.
