“I’m open to any situation which may occur in the market, but I can’t say anything about Cristian [Rodriguez] because nothing’s been said officially,” Simeone was quoted as saying by Football Espana.

“He’s a player we’d like to keep and who’s always behaved properly. He’s a great professional.”

Galatasaray, Sunderland and QPR are interested in Cristian Rodriguez according to TalkSport.

The Lions would have to part ways with a foreign player before signing Rodriguez under the current Turkish Football Federation (TFF) ruling.

The Lions have reached the nine foreign player quota permitted for Süper Lig sides.

Turkish sides are only allowed to sign nine non-Turkish players and can only play five foreign players at any one time.

However, Galatasaray would be able to play Rodriguez if he is signed this summer as the TFF will permit Süper Lig sides to sign 14 foreign players starting from next season.

Rodriguez has just over a year left on his contract but has only played 70 minutes of La Liga football this season.
