Besiktas manager Slaven Bilic has been linked with the West Ham job. The Longon based sides current manager Sam Allardyce is out of contract in the summer and there has been little to suggest he will be staying at Upton Park.

The newspaper Daily Mail has stated that the Croatian is a firm fan favourite and could be installed as manager should Allardyce leave.

Bilic has come under fire in recent weeks in Turkey due to his failure to win an Istanbul Derby since being appointed.

The former Croatia national team managers winless run in the Istanbul Derbies continues last weekend when his side succumbed to a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Fenerbahce at the Şükrü Saraçoğlu stadium.

Slaven Bilic’s record in Istanbul derbies:
7 Games
5 Defeats
2 Draws
0 Wins

The Black Eagles were also knocked out of the Europa League Last 16 last week against Club Brugge. Club Brugge beat Beşiktaş 3-1 at the Atatürk Olympic stadium to win the tie 5-2 on aggregate.

Bilic only spent a season as a player at West Ham, his profile has increased over the years by dint of his tussles with England during his successful coaching career with Croatia.
