Stoke City transfer news: Euro giants strike deal with £18m record signing

Stoke City flop Giannelli Imbula could be on his way out of the Premier League this summer.

The Turkish outlet Fotomac has claimed that Galatasaray have agreed personal terms with the French midfielder.

Per the source, the Lions met with Imbula’s agent over the weekend and have struck a deal. Galatasaray do however still need to reach an agreement with Stoke City.

The report goes onto state that Galatasaray have set aside a £1 million loan fee for the 24-year-old.

Imbula’s Stoke City future has been cast in doubt following a disappointing season. The young midfielder joined the Potters for a club record £18 million from FC Porto last year (BBC).

Galatasaray are keen to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Wesley Sneijder over the weekend.

Imbula has made just 23 Premier League starts for Stoke City since his move from Porto. The 24-year-old still has four years remaining on his current deal with the Potters.
