Sunderland slam door shut on £13m attacker Jeremain Lens cut price exit

Sunderland will not sell their star winger Jeremain Lens on a cut price deal according to the Chroniclelive.

Per the source, the Black Cats want to recoup as much of the £13 million they spent on the Netherlands international as they can this summer. Sunderland are likely to be relegated from the Premier League and will need to raise funds over the transfer window.

The report goes onto state that Sunderland do not want to send Lens out on loan for another season and would rather sell him on a permanent deal.

Fenerbahce will be unable to match the Black Cats high valuation for Lens as they have little room for manoeuvre when it comes to FIFA’s financial fair play rules.

Lens has been the star of Fenerbahce’s season since joining on loan last summer. The 29-year-old has provided an impressive 14 assists in 29 apperances for the Istanbul giants this season.

Sunderland meanwhile sit at the bottom of the Premier League and take on West Ham United this weekend.
