Sunderland slap £13m price tag on Netherlands international

Lens Sunderland Barcelona Fenerbahce

Fenerbahce will need to stump up £13 million if they are to secure Jeremain Lens on a permanent transfer next season.

Turkish media outlet SporX have reported that Sunderland are unwilling to negotiate the Netherland international’s price tag.

However, the report goes onto state that Fenerbahce will be unable to match Sunderland’s valuation this summer.

The Istanbul giants are currently being monitored by FIFA for financial fair play. Fenerbahce could be suspended from European Football next season if they fail to comply with regulations.

Lens has already established himself as a firm fan favourite at Fenerbahce since joining on loan last summer.

The 29-year-old has an impressive 13 assists and four goals to his name after 26 apperances for Fenerbahce this season.

Lens’ future at Sunderland may depend on the Black Cats future in the Premier League. Sunderland are currently at the foot of the table with just 20 points after 28 games.

Sunderland take on Watford FC in their next league fixture.
