Swansea join Stoke in the race to sign Waris

The Premier League side Swansea have been linked with a move for Tranzonspor’s striker Abdul Majeed Waris.

According to Ghanaian sports website allsport, Swansea are interested in signing Waris as a replacement for Wilfried Bony.

Bony joined Manchester City for £28million while the Swans other striker Bafétimbi Gomis is reportedly looking for a way out of the club.

Stoke City have also been closely linked with the Ghanian international and are have made €5.2 million bid for the Ghanian international according to the Turkish newspaper HaberTurk.

Waris joined Spartak Moscow in 2013 and spent last season on loan at Ligue 1 outfit Valenciennes before joining Trabzonspor this summer.

The 23-year-old has found the back of the net four times and provided two assists in 17 appearances for Trabzonspor this season.

The pacy forward was included in Ghana’s 2015 African Cup of Nations squad but was later removed due to injury.
