Tayfun Korkut took his Hannover 96 side into fourth place with a 2-0 win over Hertha Berlin.

Jimmy Briand and Hiroshi Kiyotake scored the goals which took the away side into a Champions League position.

Korkut has done a stellar job since taking over at Hannover, few expected the Bundesliga outfit to do well this season in fact they were considered prime relegation candidates.

There is still a long way to go and a lot could change between now and the end of the season but the signs are promising.

Turkish international Ceyhun Gülselam started for Hannover and contributed towards the aggressive style of play Korkut demands from his team.

The 26-year-old defensive midfielder made several tackles, interceptions and clearances in Hannover’s third consecutive Bundesliga victory.

Gülselam joined Hannover from Galatasaray on a free transfer this summer and has two-years left on his contract.

Korkut also gave 20-year-old Turkish forward Kenan Karaman some playing time in the last few minutes.

Hannover host Bayer Leverkusen next on 22 November 2014.
