‘The deal isn’t finished yet’ – Agent confirms Italian giants trying to hijack Man City offer for Cengiz Under

Italian giants Roma are the latest club to be linked with a move for Basaksehir wonder kid Cengiz Under.

The Serie A outfit have been trying to hijack Manchester City’s move for the 19-year-old.

Under’s agent Omer Koray Uzun has confirmed Roma interest but also revealed that other clubs are also in talks.

“Yes, I can confirm the interest of AS Roma,” Uzun told Roma Press.

“No, (Roma have spoken to) only Basaksehir, who are talking to other clubs, too, not only Roma.”

In another statement Uzun underlined that a deal has yet to be struck with Roma.

“I can confirm interest from Roma for Cengiz Under, but at the moment the deal isn’t finished yet,” Uzun told Corrieregiallorosso.com.

Manchester United have been keeping tabs on Under for months according to Turkish-Football.

It was however, cross-city rivals Manchester City have made the first official move for Under.

City officials made an offer for Under last Thursday and held four-hour long talks with Basaksehir in Istanbul.

A deal was not struck however, talks are ongoing and City are expected to send officials for a second round of negotiations over the next few days.

City made Basaksehir an €8 million offer but the 2016-17 season runners-up are holding out for their €12 million asking price to be matched.

Under was one of the players of the season despite being aged just 19.

The rising star scored nine times and provided seven assists in all competitions.

The Basaksehir ace has also established himself as a regular call-up to the Turkish national team. Under has two goals in both starts for the Crescent-Stars.
