Former Manchester United manager and football pundit David Moyes sparked controversy ahead of the Arsenal – Aston Villa game when he revealed that he was still not convinced by Mesut Özil.

“I think the jury’s still out on Mesut Ozil,” Moyes said speaking on Sky Sports before the game.

Arsenal ended up winning the game against Villa 2-0 at Villa Park and Özil provided an assist setting up Aaron Ramsey with the second goal.

The World Cup winner has been one of the most in-form players for his side this season.

Özil has won the Arsenal Vitality Player of the Month award for the past two consecutive months and now has 13 assists in 15 Premier League games this season.

The 27-year-old also played a key role in Arsenal beating Olympiakos 3-0 in Greece to book a place in the Champions League Last 16 for the 15th consecutive season.

The victory took the north London based side into first place but Leicester City could overtake the Gunners with a win against Chelsea tomorrow.
