The league title would be 'turning point' in Besiktas history says Olcay Sahan

The 2014-15 Süper Lig title would be a turning point for Beşiktaş according to winger Olcay Şahan.

The Turkish international stated that the club are at an important juncture in their history.

The Vodafone Arena is nearing completion, winning the league and securing a place in the Champions League would mark a new era for the Black Eagles.

“We are at a turning point, the league title, Champions League football and the new stadium could all come at once, it would open a brand new chapter in the clubs history,” Şahan told Fanatik.

Beşiktaş have played without a home stadium this season, the Inönü stadium is being rebuilt.

The new stadium which will be named the Vodafone Arena will be a state of the art 41,903 seater sporting complex.

The Black Eagles have had to play at the Atatürk Olympic, Fatih Terim stadium as well as the Torku Konya Arena and the Osmanlı stadium in Ankara as a result.

Beşiktaş are currently first in the league but Galatasaray are second only on goal difference and Fenerbahçe are just one point behind in third.
