Tolgay Arslan – ‘I can defend and attack’ [divider]

Beşiktaş midfielder Tolgay Arslan underlined that he is capable of carrying out defensive duties and providing an attacking outlet in midfield.

“I like to do my talking on the field, defending is an important part of my game, I played a defensive role in Germany but I can also play in more advanced positions in midfield,” Arslan told Fanatik.

The 24-year-old played in an attacking midfield role against Liverpool in the Europa League Round of 32 second-leg.

Arslan scored the winning goal in regulation time to take the match into extra time.

The winter signing also converted his spot kick in the penalty shoot out to help Beşktaş progress to the next stage of the tournament.

Arslan joined Beşiktaş from HSV Hamburg for just €400,000 over the winter transfer window.

The 24-year-old has four appearances for the Eagles in all competitions this season.

Arslan was born in Germany but plays under a domestic status in Turkey due to being of Turkish heritage.
