Interest in Yunus Malli only serves as a motivation to improve his performances according to Mainz manager Martin Schmidt.

The German tabloid Sport Bild has reported that Tottenham are interested in signing the Turkish international who has had an excellent season so far.

When asked whether the interest in Malli distracts his star player, Schmidt replied, “These are things that do him good.”

Tottenham had scouts present at Maniz’s game against Hanover 96 recently according to Tutto Mercatto.

Malli played for the Germany U21 side as a youth but has decided to switch allegiances and represent the country of his parents.

The attacking midfielder is expected to be called up to the Turkish national team for the European Championships in France over the summer.

Malli has scored ten goals and has provided three assist in 28 appearances for Maniz this season.
