Akan also confirmed that Napoli and Roma are also interested in signing Demirbay next season.

“Napoli want to sign a young midfielder next season as do Roma, Kerem does like Italy and his international teammate Salih Uçan has advised him to join Italy,” he added.

Demirbay is currently on loan at Bundesliga II outfit FC Kaiserslautern and has one goal and two assists in 13 appearances this season.

The 21-year-old central midfielder was born in Germany but represents the Turkish national team.

Demirbay is of Turkish heritage and has played for the Crescent-Stars at U19 and U21 level.

The young midfielder was a Borussia Dortmund youth player and later joined HSV in 2013 on a free transfer. Demirbay was loaned out to Kaiserslautern in the summer to gain more first team experience.

Kaiserslautern are currently fifth in the Bundesliga II, eight points behind league leaders Ingolstadt.
