Tottenham striker ‘delighted’ to be in Turkey after goal in ‘crazy derby’

Fenerbahce beat reigning Super Lig champions Besiktas 2-1 at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium on Saturday.

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen who is on loan at the Yellow Canaries won his side the penalty for the opening goal.

Janssen also netted his second goal in two games from a spot-kick to wrap up all three points.

The Dutch striker revealed that the derby was crazy and that he is delight to be in Turkey.

“It was a crazy derby but an amazing experience,” Janssen was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“Giuliano is our penalty taker but he let me take the second one. 

“In these type of games anything can happen, you have to be alert, there are always incidents. 

“I am still settling in but I am delighted to be in Turkey and really happy with how things are going.”

Janssen has scored in both games he has started for Fenerbahce this season. The Istanbul giants have also won both games in which the striker has started for them.

The 23-year-old has scored with each shot on target.

The Dutch forward has already equaled his Premier League tally for Tottenham last season.

Fenerbahce moved into 4th position following the victory, just five points behind league leaders Galatasaray.

The Yellow Canaries will take on Akhisar on the road next on Friday 29 September, Janssen is expected to start.
