The Netherlands finished Group A in third place, behind leaders France and second placed Sweden – who went through to the playoff stage by virtue of having a better goal difference than the Dutch.

Janssen scored just two goals in World Cup qualification and that was against Luxembourg and the Belarus.

Janssen joined Fenerbahce on a one-year loan over the summer transfer window.

The 23-year-old has two goals and two assist in all competitions this season and netted in the 2-1 win over Besiktas in the Istanbul derby.

The Dutch striker was however, unable to find the back of the net in the goalless draw against arch rivals Galatasaray over the week in the Intercontinental derby.
