Trabzonspor set to win the race to sign Tolgay Arslan from HSV

Trabzonspor are set to beat Besiktas and Galatasaray in the race to sign Tolgay Arslan from the Bundesliga side Hamburg.

According to the Turkish newspaper AMK, Trabzonspor have struck a deal with HSV by agreeing to pay the €2 million transfer fee up front.

Trabzonspor CEO Burak Gurdal has met with Tolgay and is understood to be close to agreeing personal teams with the 24-year-old.

Arslan’s contract with Hamburg runs out at the end of the season and he will be enter to enter direct talks with other clubs if he does not renew his current deal.

Arsenal as well as Besiktas, Lazio, Napoli and Galatasaray have all been closely linked with the hard working midfielder.

The Germany and Turkey U20 international moved to Hamburg from Dortmund in 2009 on a free transfer.
