Turkey moves up 9 spots into 37th place in FIFA World Rankings

Turkey have moved up nine spots into 37th place in the latest FIFA World Rankings. The World Football governing body updated their rankings on their official website this morning.

Turkey recently drew 1-1 with Latvia at the Konya Torku Arena and then beat the Netherlands 3-0 at the same stadium in the Euro 2016 Group A qualification game last month.

The Crescent-Stars increased their points tally from 603 points last time around to 717 in the latest FIFA update.


The Crescent-Stars Euro 2016 Group A opponents Netherlands dropped into 14th, Czech Republic moved up three places into 15th, Iceland have moved up to 23rd, Latvia have dropped to 103rd and Kazakhstan are down to 142nd.

Turkey take on the Czech Republic next followed by their final home game against Iceland in the group stages.
