Brazil national team star Neymar admitted the Turkish fans won him over and that Turkey would always have a special place in his heart.
The Selecao ended up beating Turkey 4-0 at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium with Neymar scoring a brace and providing one assist.
“I want to thank everyone,” Neymar said.
“To be honest I never thought I would hear my name being chanted from the stands but it was amazing.
“It was a really emotional experience.
“Turkey will always have a special place in my heart after this.”
Neymar also revealed that he is in the best form of his life but still has room to improve.
“I think I’m in the best form of my career though I can’t be satisfied. I shall keep on working hard to get even better, to keep on helping Barcelona and the Brazilian national side,” Neymar told Globo TV.
Neymar has now scored a total of 42 in 59 senior international appearances.
