The report claims that the Black Eagles have offered Barcelona a one-year loan deal for the experienced defender and that talks with the player are at an advanced stage.

Sport meanwhile report that the Istanbul giants could face competition from Premier League giants Liverpool.

Per the source, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp has the experienced defender on his radar as a potential solution to his current crisis at the back.

The Reds have already parted ways with Kolo Toure and Martin Skrtel. Liverpool are also without Joe Gomez is injured as is defensive midfielder Lucas Leiva.

Dejan Lovren and Matip are currently the only two centre-backs available to Klopp.

Barcelona reportedly want €7 million for the defender but the Black Eagles are keen on a loan deal as they would struggle to meet his valuation without selling a key player.

The La Liga champions have given the French defender the option to leave this summer after brining in Samuel Umtiti and Lucas Digne.
