Turkish giants plan to replace Robin Van Persie with Man United striker, £8.8m per-year demanded

Fenerbahce are planning an ambitious effort to sign Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic according to reports in Turkey.

Per the source, the Yellow Canaries made an enquiry to Ibrahimovic’s agent Mino Raiola.

The super-agent revealed that it would cost Fenerbahce £8.8 million [€10m] per-season to sign the experienced striker.

Fenerbahce plan to release Robin van Persie this summer to free up the wage bill and comply with Financial Fair Play (FFP) who they are facing pressure from over spending.

Van Persie earns £6.6 million [€7.5m] per-season.

The 33-year-old striker joined Fenerbahce from United in 2015 alongside Luis Nani.

Ibrahimovic faces an uncertain future at United. As things stand he will become a free agent at the end of the month.

The powerful striker is currently out injured but has vowed to be fit by November according to the Daily Star.

The report claims that United could be tempted into offering Ibrahimovic a short-term contract to stay on until the end of the season.

Ibrahimovic is currently using the United’s Carrington training grounds for his rehabilitation.
