UEFA has fined Napoli and Trabzonspor after fans lit flares in the stands during a Europa League Round of 32 match at the San Paolo stadium.

Both sets of fans lit flares in the return leg on February 26 resulting in the charges.

UEFA says its disciplinary panel ordered Napoli to pay €60,000 euros and Trabzonspor €40,000 euros.

Trabzonspor suffered their heaviest ever European competition home defeat against Napoli in the first leg at the Avni Aker stadium.

Napoli beat Trabzonspor 4-1 away, it was also the Serie A outfit’s biggest away victory in European competition.

Napoli advanced to the Round of 16. The Italian club plays Wolfsburg next month in the quarterfinals.

Trabzonspor are currently fifth in the Super Lig, 10 points behind third placed Fenerbahçe.

The Black Sea Storm are coached by former Fenerbahçe manager Ersun Yanal. The ex Turkish national team head coach led the Yellow Canaries to the league title last season.
