Valencia attempt to hijack move for Man United star

Valencia have joined the race for Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini according to reports in England.

The Sun claim that the La Liga outfit have attempted to hijack Besiktas’ move for Fellaini and want him on a free transfer.

Per the source, Valencia are pushing for a signed pre-contract in January.

The report claims that the Red Devils have not agreed to sell the Belgium international to Besiktas yet despite reports claiming otherwise.

The Mirror reported that Besiktas have struck a deal with the Red Devils for an £8 million January transfer.

Sources close to Besiktas have however, revealed to Turkish-Football that they want the 29-year-old for a lower fee and that the club will not pay £8 million.

Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho has given Fellaini playing time this season and did rule out a move last summer.

“It’s easier for Galatasaray to get me than to get Maroaune,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by Goal.

“Forget it. He’s too important to me.”

Fellaini will be available on a free transfer next summer unless a new contract deal is struck with United.

United paid Everton £27.5 million for Fellaini under the stewardship of David Moyes in the summer of 2013.
