Van Persie set for Old Trafford return after being included in Fenerbahce Europa League squad

Fenerbahce manager Dick Advocaat made no surprises in naming his Europa League group stage squad.

The Dutch head coach included every summer signing in the squad including Martin Skrtel, Gregory van der Wiel, Roman Neustädter and Jeremain Lens.

Netherlands international star Robin van Persie has also been selected and he could end up facing two of his former teams in Feyenoord and Manchester United who have also been drawn in Group A.

Van Persie won the 2002 UEFA Cup with Feyenoord and played a key role in United winning the Premier League for a record 20th time.

The experienced striker first made a name for himself at Arsenal spending several seasons at the club before joining rivals United.

Van Persie’s move did not go down well with Gooners but the star striker did go onto win the trophy that had eluded him for eight seasons prior to his transfer – the Premier League.

The 33-year-old provided three assists and scored 22 goals in all competitions for the Istanbul giants last season.
